Florence Everling

In my art practice, I draw inspiration from hazy dreams and distant memories to create iconic
characters and scenes that can touch everyone. Far from the hustle and bustle of today world, my works are in search of small moments of happiness, calm and symbiosis with nature. They refer to ephemeral moments, fleeting sensations. The female character that often recurs in my work is linked to more abstract elements to represent a pure and timeless dreamlike world.

The meditative work of carving and printmaking allows me to bring a part of myself into my works. By paying attention to detail and precision, by the choice of paper and technique, I seek to create simplified scenes that play on differences in stroke and scale. While the clearly understandable representations may catch the eye, the delicacy and creative process behind each print try to gently hold it.

At the moment, I study Arts plastiques at Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, continuing to experiment with different mediums and exploring the different possibilities that printmaking offers.
